A PLACE FOR MOM

A few good stories.
In your own words.

A little context for the conversation, and reminders of work we’ve done together.

The role and how to use this prepRead context

The opportunity

A hands-on lead individual contributor role on a small, growing Family Experience team. The work centers on consumer and mobile experiences that help families make consequential decisions.

Relevant themes include trust, research early in the process, close engineering partnership, fast iteration and using AI prototypes to learn.

A note from Matt

Thanks for making time. Please choose one or two moments you remember well, describe what you saw and use your own words. These are memory cues from my perspective, not answers to read out.

It’s useful to be candid about strengths, feedback and growth. Please correct anything that doesn’t match your memory, and leave a note if a detail needs work.

Production manager partner

Lisa Devlin

We worked closely as production and product-design partners around TikTok World and Cannes Lions. You were the production manager, and I worked on generative AI tools. Your perspective is on our cross-functional partnership.

Work to remember

Choose the stories you know firsthand
01

Brand and event collaboration

Making Symphony work alongside TikTok

Symphony had a distinct identity that departed from many of TikTok’s usual guidelines at the time.

We worked together to find an approach that could work across both brands and help partners show and explain our avatar, image-to-video and agent experiences.

Outcome and recollection prompt

The useful story is the decision we made together and how it supported the event experience. Please add the particular constraint, compromise or example you remember.

Where did product and production needs pull in different directions? How did we reach a workable decision?

02

iPad experience

Bringing the right people into an advertiser demo

Key advertisers needed a way to demo the experiences we were shipping.

I connected you with design, engineering and other resources on our team to develop an iPad experience. My contribution here was assembling the relevant people and enabling collaboration.

Outcome and recollection prompt

Add the delivery or advertiser response you personally observed, keeping each person’s contribution clear.

How did the introductions and handoffs work? What did I help clarify or unblock as the product and event teams worked together?

03

Hands-on Symphony use

Seeing the tools become part of production work

Your production work included developing visual concepts and digital content for event screens.

Our work brought the generative AI tools into a real production context. By the end, you were using Symphony to generate concepts, looping screen content and ambient experiences.

Outcome and recollection prompt

Your own use is a concrete outcome. The best example is a piece of content or a production need you remember, without implying broader adoption or measured savings.

What became useful in your workflow? What did you need from me, and how did I respond to practical feedback?

Questions worth thinking about

  • What was it like collaborating with me across product design and production?
  • How did I explain emerging AI capabilities and their limitations to partners?
  • How did I respond when brand, technical or event constraints changed the work?
  • What should I keep doing, and what would make me a stronger cross-functional partner?
